DirtCrab

What the hell is a DirtCrab?

It's the fastest bike for dual slalom that we can build.

It's somewhere south of 5 pounds of carefully selected, artfully manufactured gated-racing and dirtjumping perfection rendered with just the right amount of steel in just the right places.

Dirtcrab
It's...the best bike there is for a discipline of cycling that barely exists

It's already inspired an entire new lingo in the Northeastern United States relating to unprecedented lateral grip and straightline stability.  Dirtcrabbing has ruined lives and turned small numbers of people in small pockets of bike culture into grip junkies in search of the perfect grass hill to lay down some gates and race their friends, for free. DirtCrabbing led to many dusty, forgotten downhill bikes in 2010 and quite a few retired pairs of waffle-soled Vans.

It's also one of the most expensive slalom frames we've ever heard of. Deal with it. It takes just as much care, effort, and dough  to make a DirtCrab as it does any other custom-built high-end frame.  We charge enough to make room for the extra-nice tweaks, forethought, and even customer service into each bike.  The cheap bikes out of Taiwan and the slightly-less-cheap production bikes out of California are all great, well made with solid geometry. As far as we can tell, they are all primarily aimed at dirtjumping and freestyle shenanigans.  Nothing wrong with that.  We'll build you a jump bike if you want one, but what defines the DirtCrab is that it's designed from the ground up to rip corners, scrub jumps and session loamy corners -- and it's built to the very highest standard there is.

It's one well-designed bike that is perfect for racing your friends in your back yard, slaying the pumptrack and winning round after round of World Cup 4x is a great deal.   Still cheaper than a FS bike and more versatile. When you get in the gate, confidence is everything. How much is confidence worth to you?

Its Specs: We've got a 2"-thick book of slalom bike lengths and angles: for various surfaces, different riding styles and unlikely rider sizes. There are also a few hundred butted steel tubes in the world for us to choose from. We'll select the tubes and geometry to be the right carve and pop machine for your body, your riding style, and your deepest desires. We listen to your feedback, assess your strengths and weakness, riding preferences and favorite color to build you something really, really special. Full-factory race stylee.
